Resolution Decision

The recorded outcome of reconciling competing meanings into a single canonical definition for a namespace.

Canonical Definition

A resolution decision is the recorded outcome of a Meaning Resolution event, in which competing or conflicting interpretations of a term are reconciled into a single canonical definition for a defined namespace. The decision records the participating interpretations, the decision-making authority, the rationale, the effective date, and the disposition of the rejected alternatives (archived, deprecated, or recorded as namespace-specific variants). Resolution decisions are themselves auditable artifacts and form part of the governance memory of the organisation. Source: WikiSure Research; analogous to architectural decision records (ADRs).
